May 2024 Wholesome Therapies Newsletter - Inspired in Spring

May 1st and the halfway point between the spring equinox and the summer solstice is now behind us. Beltane, an ancient Celtic holiday, peaked on May 1st and was a significant festival marking the beginning of the summer season. Believed to be derived from the Gaelic word "Bealtaine," which means "bright fire," Beltane was a time of purification and fertility rituals. Picture bonfires ablaze, honoring the sun's warmth and nurturing the land's fertility. The dance around the Maypole, symbolizing the intertwining of energies and the renewal of life, echoes through the ages, reminding us of nature's eternal cycle.

The Power of Renewal

Renewal isn't just about making superficial changes; It's a chance to shed old habits and embrace new beginnings. Just as the natural world bursts into life, we too have the opportunity to refresh our minds, bodies, and spirits. it's about reconnecting with our true selves and cultivating a sense of balance and harmony in our lives. This process often involves introspection and a willingness to explore new possibilities. By reflecting on what truly nourishes our bodies and souls, we can identify areas in our lives that may need attention or rejuvenation.

At Wholesome Therapies, we embrace this spirit of renewal and vitality, embodying the feminine qualities of empathy, nurturing, and collaboration. This May, we're proud to support Alternatives to Violence (ATV), a Larimer County non-profit offering shelter, advocacy, and resources for those impacted by domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking. With every session booked this month, $5 will go directly to ATV, aiding in their vital mission of healing and empowerment. Join us in spreading hope and positivity by donating, volunteering, or simply keeping ATV and its clients in your thoughts and prayers. Together, let's nurture a brighter, safer future for all.

Discovering Neurokinetic Therapy

In the realm of therapeutic offerings, I’m thrilled to introduce Neurokinetic Therapy (NKT) as part of my repertoire. Following a recent training, I’m further equipped with a wealth of tools and techniques to address imbalances and dysfunctions with precision and effectiveness. NKT, a research-based therapy rooted in applied kinesiology, utilizes muscle tests to uncover underlying issues and employs bodywork and exercises to promote healing and restore optimal function. From alleviating low back pain to easing headaches, NKT offers tangible relief for a range of conditions.

To celebrate this new addition, we’re offering a special promotion: book a 60-minute session in Fort Collins or Boulder and enjoy an extra 30 minutes with our "NKT Demo Session" to explore the benefits of NKT firsthand. This is a fantastic opportunity to experience this transformative therapy and understand how it can support your health journey.

Committed to Continuous Growth

I remain committed to ongoing education and growth to better serve you, and other valued clients. Recently, I delved into the intricacies of "Working with Disavowed and Undervalued Parts" in a training led by esteemed facilitator Shai Lavie, M.A., M.F.T., C.S.E.P., C.H.T.. Learning from Shai and many of the others from the California based branch of the Hakomi Institute expanded both my knowledge and community. This training brought in aspects of Internal Family Systems’s “parts work” and more specificity to foundational phases of the Hakomi process.

As I continue to integrate insights and teachings into my practice, I remain dedicated to providing you with the highest standard of care and support on your journey to wellness.

You can book a session at any of our locations and join us as we embrace the spirit of spring with renewed energy and a robust support system at Wholesome Therapies. Let’s make this season a time of growth and transformation with the right care and support tailored just for you.
